It is an hour and a half before the ceramony. The time that I have spent in this program has been some if the best years in my life. I am very sad that the is over but looking forward tithe senior princesses and no officier responsibility. Well at least for the first year.

Buffalo Overnighter.

What a day. Morgan and I went to Niagra Falls with some other Adventure Princesses before our Buffalo Overnighter. We are sleeping on the U. S. S. Little Rock. I could not imagine living on this ship. Right now I am laying in my bunk there is a about 8 inches from the top of my head to the bottom of the bunk above me. This is a lot more room the the person on the top (third) bunk. We did the Maid of the Mist and the cave of the winds. What a great day.

Joe Friday Award

The award is named in honor of the late Joe Friday, an Ojibway Indian and close friend to staff founder of the YMCA-Indian Programs, Harold S. Keltner.

Today at the Induction Ceremony I was honored by receiving this award. Today was one of the best days of my life.. Here was the speech that was given.

Joe Friday was an Ojibway Indian, He was the main inspiration of Harold S. Keltner who founded this organization back in 1926.
So we give out an award once a year in his honor. This award goes out to an Officer who has gone above and beyond his regular elected duties. This Officer has been there to help out all year. Whether it was to collect pallets for the Council Fires or help out at all the recruiting rallies. We never had to ask him to help he would come to us and ask what time do we need to be there. I personally asked him for help “probably weekly” to send out extra reminders to everyone. Other times he took it upon himself to get the word out to everyone whenever it was nessasary. Even though his position was Asst. Running Waters Editor He took on the role of Editor a few months into the year always making sure the news letter was correct and on time. While always keeping in mind what was right for the organization.
